Abstract

One of the best definitions used to precisely determine management activities is the one given by the authors Koontz and Weihrich who define management as «process of shaping and maintaining environment in which individuals, working together in groups effectively implement their chosen goals». Security in general implies a degree to which the people are protected from various types of endangerment, whereas in a narrower sense it implies a set of all measures, activities and procedures directed to improvement of all aspects of protection. In order to implement measures and procedures it is necessary to possess knowledge, skills and expertise, particularly if we know that protection stands for one of the primary functions in every system. For that function to be organized successfully it is necessary that people in charge of its realization include top management, all employees and a person exclusively in charge of those affairs- security manager. This article offers analyis of responsibility and other challenges that enviroment poses to this profession.
