Abstract

In this paper authors discuss specific issues related to rehabilitation pro-grams, education and work of female prisoners that are developed in the prison system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is characterized by fragmentation, both in terms of organizational structure, and in terms of the legislative framework that regulates it.

Based upon results of research authors determine the state of rehabilitation programs, work and educational opportunities for female prisoners in the prison system of Bosnia and Herzegovina that is almost invariably designed for the majority male prison population. Furthermore, authors provide recommendations of measures aimed at correcting the identified deficiencies.
