TY - JOUR AU - Fazlić, Adnan PY - 2015/10/10 Y2 - 2024/03/28 TI - Conventional Andcontemporary Approach to Eyewitness Identification Performance JF - Kriminalističke teme JA - KT VL - IS - 3-4 SE - DO - UR - https://krimteme.fkn.unsa.ba/index.php/kt/article/view/102 SP - 37-51 AB - <p><strong>Reason(s) for writing and research problem(s):</strong> The paper was inspired by author’s intention to present features of conventional and conteporary approach to eyewitness identification performance and to indicate benefits and the most significant innovations implied by contemporary approach.</p><p><strong>Aims of the paper (scientific and/or social):</strong> The paper aims to point differences between conventional and contemporary approach to eyewitness identification performance as well as to highlight the development of contemporary modes and technologies as a sort of content innovations in the framework of eyewitness identification.</p><p><strong>Methodology/Design:</strong> Used methods include document analysis of scientific publications and professional papers related to issues of eyewitness identification performance in criminal investigation.</p><p><strong>Research/paper limitations:</strong> Given the fact that paper do not imply results of empirical research, it is limited to a theoretical consideration of the main topic.</p><p><strong>Results/Findings:</strong> Contemporary approach to eyewitness identification performance in criminal investigation, intents to acceptance of the principles of „good investigative practice“ aimed to providing a higher level of eyewitness identification reliability and credibility. One of the advantages of approach is aspiration to implementation of the advanced technology achievements in order to increase the efficiency of the eyewitness identification.</p><p><strong>General conclusion:</strong> Criminal investigation practice is characterized by the represenation of both conventional and contemporary approaches to eyewitness identification performance. However, none of these do not offer definitive solutions that will raise reliability and credibility of eyewitness identification on the higher level.</p><p><strong>Research/paper validity:</strong> Justifiability of the paper lies in the fact that, in regional and BiH academic framework, issues related to eyewitness identification performance were not elaborated sufficiently on the scientific, as well as professional level.</p> ER -
