Abstract

The subject of this paper is a preliminary analysis the potential inherited (genetic) factors of criminal behaviour registered in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The primary objective is elaboration of the problem, which is socially sensitive, and analyses the key factors of criminal behaviour, such as social, and biological, that is a potential genetic factor. In this study there are presented relevant theoretical ideas about the relationship between society, genetic inheritance and criminal behaviour, and results from currently available data and methods of gathering information. Research has shown that in some cases, the potential impact of hereditary factors on criminal behaviour can be identified i.e., it can be assumed, in relation among siblings (siblings who have at least one common parent), but it would require more detailed and comprehensive analysis that clearly distance themselves from social factors. The survey was taken into account the specific characteristics of "area" that is tested, i.e. the specific social and biological standards of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This paper presents the results of a preliminary practical research in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The analysis of the processed data in the registers of the cantonal courts in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the record of final measures imposed on persons who have committed criminal offenses in the period 2005.- 2009. year.
